Hey Susan,

What are those trees doing in your Xmas scene?

Beautiful colors. You just keep the work coming. I love it.

Love, Linda
p.s. Now I am curious what your story behind this work is since you gave me an explanation of your Xmas Card Art.

Hi Linda!

Well.......
This one actually started in class with my kids. We were problem solving and I asked my class to create a world of their liking where it could look the way they wanted it, be ruled the way the wanted it, have whomever in their city that they wanted, etc. So, they then asked me to create something as well.

For me, I love the pine tree. It's strong, has strong yet supple boughs, holds life, gives shelter and shade - is an evergreen - with the same qualities as before.

The homes are natural/organic in nature. The roofs are thatched, the wind is present, blowing ideas, messages and such to other regions - warnings too!

The size of the tree is ominous but at the same time showing great prosperity and fertile ideas.

The three barren trees - first of all, three is a sacred and balanced number; like our triangle... the boughs lifted up mean hope, barren - cyclical - the roots/issues.....

The colors used in the background/sky are pink - again, one of my faves and depicts the heart. The periwinkle/violet - the crown chakra. Once again, their are little squigglies or tendrils/but actually more energy vortex symbols...

the snow/pristine/peace; yet challenge.

The sky is also what I regularly see here in New Mexico, unpredictible, wild, beautiful.
