Here's a Way Cool Story. It's By Derek Sivers of CD BABY - Where you can of course purchase my CD. :)

http://sivers.org/tom-williams

I think it's very poignant. Especially in today's business climate - and - a way for us to remember that we just need to take a little action and believe a lot!!!!!

Love to All.

Happy Fourth of July!!!!!!!!!!

Crow Fly, Shoe Fly, Key Lime Pie
Susan Lowery © 7/2009

I know, you go, and everything’s hazy
But who cares, who knows - Love is crazy!
Crazy and blind and wild & free
Lazy as summertime rollin’ on me

In a world that makes some sense
There ain’t no time for pretense
It’s so intense, but so am I………………..
so fly high blackbird, fly so high

To the moon in the month of June
With a July chaser and a rockin’ chair tune
Screamin’ and flyin’ as fast as they can
Iraq baby, – Afganistan

Crow fly, shoe fly, key lime pie
Sometimes I’m scared of what’s on my mind
Crow fly, shoe fly & key lime pie
What the hell, might as well ask “why?”

Down in the desert sweatin’ with snakes
Crawlin’ on the ground with a bad belly ache
Too many cherries, too much pie
Too many hot dogs

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!!

Monsoonal Morning
© 7/2009 Susan Lowery

It’s a beautiful monsoonal morning,
With the right amount of wet in the air.
All around the desert birds are crooning,
Unearthing breakfast like hunters at a snare.

I heard the voices calling,
To wake up to the heat all around.
As the lightning lifted upward -

The heavy air dampened down.
It happens in an instant,
The thermals rise and fall -

- Wind direction changes,
Violently winter, spring, summer & fall….
It’s a land of stark survival,
Yet, where the rainbows thrive.
Just west of the Sangre de Christos,
Vibrational enchantment is alive.

Two Older Pieces Dug Out of the Closet.....

Here are a couple of older pieces that I dug out of the closet. They're both batik-like works done on rayon with dyes & what's called gutta-resist.
I'm trying to get mysef to work on some new pieces and finish some older writings..... sometimes I just really need encouragement.

Walking With "The Nu...."

Nikki and I had a beautiful walk last night and here are some more photos. We took some in the morning and again last night. We were busy girls! I took this set of six photos with my cell phone camera.

Before Monsoon
Sue & Nikki 5/2009

Rolling gray, tumbling, blundering, devouring all across the plains
Over the petroglyphs, under rocks, and deadwood - through the humidity and timidity of the fields and desolate fauna, dried and dire and extracted, ripped and pulled, torn……..

She was pulling and tugging, tearing the devils’ lettuce, fiddle plant, scorpion weeds – beautiful, dangerous, noxious, poison pulled from the core of the mother – alongside healing sage and daisies and bugs beautiful and bold and ugly and sinful, stinging and nasty, mean and mein in spirit, with dust lifting and blowing and settling and flying – manically; waiting for the blessing to follow….

Pelting, falling, dripping, deluge, wanted and wanting – loving, nurturing, brutalizing and destroying, bringing buoyancy and demise – whichever the favor or folley…..

My ancient, arid and mysterious seabed.

Here Are My Friends Pattie & Dennis Taylor; They're Musicians Too! Plus, The Owl That Visited Their Yard.

Pattie sings opera & other styles as well, and Dennis plays guitar and sings contemporary music, they work together as an acoustic duo.
Also....
Here are photos of the "owl that came-a-visiting!" Pattie was able to take these pictures by patiently waiting on a lawnchair in their backyard. It was a windy day and as you can see, the owls' "horns" were quite a flutter! Cudos to Pattie for such great shots!
Dennis took the portrait of both he and Pattie.
The Taylor's live here in New Mexico, close to Dan & I.

Natural Amphitheater

This is a natural amphitheater just outside of Abiqui, New Mexico. Dan took this picture.
This place was beautiful.
We stumbled upon this on our way to Chama, New Mexico.
Being musicians, Dan and I were thrilled to see this.
We thought, maybe our band could play here...............hmmmmmmmm.
By the way, we're looking for a name for the band.
We haven't come up with one yet, that hasn't wreaked of cheese, dust, desert, dirt devils, mesa's, etc.
We're playing pretty much all rock from the 70's with a few added blues and old R &B numbers as well.
It's a kick.
We've got close to 40 songs on our list now and are gettin' ready to get out and turn this place upside down.
We've got bass, drums, guitar, keys and me.
I didn't necessarily think I'd be back to hard rockin' - but it's a blast and really satisfies the non-conformist in me.

My Tree, In Process............

Everything I'm doing right now, remains in process.....

Lots to finish. Lots.

Phew..... maybe this one is done

Raven in Process - Mission Accomplished..........

I finally started painting my raven on this canvas after having the canvas sit on this easel for the longest time. I did it while talking on the phone to a friend, and taking a break from more, eye-splitting homework.........

I think it's done now.

Well, maybe...... I keep making making adjustments/additions.

It's a little difficult to see because I've used so much metallic ink, not to mention the use of a flash on my camera....oh well, "more will be revealed." - Big Book of AA
